Welcome to SEED, the Small Enterprise and Entrepreneurship Development Conference!

This year's SEED Conference is all about Social Media, Marketing, and Low Cost Solutions to Small Business Problems.  We're very proud to announce our keynote speaker Tom Ficklin, founder of The Ficklin Media Group, LLC, who will start off the day by sharing his insights.

The day's events will include our keynote address, seven workshops, complementary breakfast and lunch, and a resource fair. SEED Conferences bring together entrepreneurs, small business owners and business experts in the Greater New Haven community for a day of speakers, workshops and networking. There's many business resources in the Greater New Haven area -- which is good news for small business owners but also means that it can be difficult to navigate the options. The resource fair brings together representatives from businesses and organizations under one roof so you can easily learn about the small business services available in our local community.

Elmseed Enterprise Fund



Elmseed is a non-profit that offers small loans and business training to entrepreneurs in the Greater New Haven area.

Our mission is to open the capital markets to New Haven's most disadvantaged entrepreneurs and to provide them with the business expertise and technical support necessary to succeed.  By providing personalized consulting, business training, and access to small loans, we help our clients build their incomes through growing their businesses. We aim for greater self-sufficiency for entrepreneurs and a stronger, more vibrant economic community community within New Haven as a whole.

To that end, we offer first-time loans of $2,000, business plan writing courses, business training courses, and one-on-one consulting to aspiring entrepreneurs and small business owners.  We have worked with over 60 entrepreneurs and disbursed over $50,000 in loans to date.
